SEO Simple - Wordpress Theme

February 16, 2007 on 10:11 am | In SEO, Wordpress Template | No Comments

You may have noticed that I have changed my Wordpress theme.

It is called SEO Simple and if you like it, you can download it here.

It is of my own making and is also my first effort at doing a WP Theme.

I hope you like it.

Google PageRank

October 25, 2005 on 9:28 pm | In Etc..., SEO | 2 Comments

I read today on Entrepreneurs Journey that MSN.COM gets a Google PageRank of 2 in the recent Google PageRank update!

This prompted me to check what my PageRank was incase it had increased. It had! I had the pleasant surprise to find that my PageRank has gone from 0 to 5.

I’ve heard a lot around the Blogosphere that PageRank is now less relevant than it used to be. And to be honest, I have not ever really given it a great deal of thought (but still checked mine from time to time ;)).

However, it’s got to be said that it feels pretty good when it goes up.

Especially when it is higher than MSN.COM!

It was also pleasing to find that my Darvas Trade and Trader Knowledge websites both have a PR of 4.

Woo-hoo! Google PageRank rocks!

Article Submissions

October 14, 2005 on 8:31 pm | In Blogging, SEO | No Comments

On the advice of Yaro Starak’s Beginners Guide to Backlinks, I have recently taken the bold step of submitting a couple of articles to
Ezine @rticles.

The main reason for this is an exercise in increasing backlinks to my web-sites - but also to experiment with writing to a wider audience.

Syndicating your work on an article submission website serves to increase your backlinks because whoever publishes your articles is obliged to also publish a link to your web-site(s). If you manage to write a very popular article, then you could theoretically be looking at an awful lot of backlinks.

The article submission site that I used - Ezine @rticles - has a whole catalog of categorised articles available for free publishing on web-sites. There is even a category for writing articles!

The whole exercise was pretty straight forward. I just signed up for free membership, re-hashed a couple of articles I had already written on my Blogs, and then submitted them for review. A day later they were approved and they are now being viewed by publishers.

I’m not sure if anyone has published them though :|

Here are my articles incase you are interested :)
