Notebook
August 1, 2005 on 1:38 am | In 31 Days to a Better Blog, Blogging |One of the first decent articles I read on the topic of SEO was 26 Steps to 15k a Day by Brett Tabke. These steps are ordered alphabeticaly (from A through to Z) and offer a system which says will give you 15,000 visitors a day. Of course, like all systems, it must be followed up with the necessary hard work.
One point which is reinforced throughout the article (and also in similar articles I have read on this topic) is a fundamental need for plenty of fresh content when building and maintaining a popular website.
And how true this is. I currently cull my aggregator, deleting about 2-3 feeds a week in favour of fresh feeds. It’s survival of the fittest. Not that I’m constantly on the look out for blogs which are updated regularly, but sometimes a blog without fresh content which has been idle for a week or two just gets deleted to make way.
To help with the constant quest for new material, Brett Tabke suggests keeping notes of all the good ideas you have so that you can jot them down before you forget them.
So, I was thinking about buying a little notebook for this purpose. While thinking, I remembered that at the end of 2002, I bought an A5 day planner diary. It was in a moment of ‘I must get my life organised’ efficiency. Luckily my “get my life together for 2003″ crash landed on the 1st of January, so I now have a “only used once” day planner in which I can happily jot down my ideas for 31 days to building a better blog.
Ok, so the days don’t fit the dates, but hey, this is blogging on a budget!

[…] I’ve just spent a while going through my Notebook, checking up on what I can blog about next week for 31 Days to Better Blogging. At the same time I had Wordpress open in the Write Post section - I then had an idea. I’m sure it’s not unique - but I thought - Why don’t I take all my ideas from my notebook and write a quick Draft Post for that idea? […]
